We are looking for a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join a progressive mental health service in Dorset. About the Role:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of mental health conditions. Working closely with psychologists, nurses, and social workers, you will provide expert care to patients and play a pivotal role in shaping mental health services. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes while maintaining accurate records using EMIS Web.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate diagnoses for patients presenting with various mental health conditions.
Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualised treatment plans, including medication management and therapy recommendations.
Leadership & Supervision: Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior doctors, mental health nurses, and allied health professionals.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with psychologists, nurses, and community mental health teams to provide holistic care.
Crisis Intervention: Manage acute psychiatric crises and provide timely interventions for patients in need.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the EMIS Web system.
Quality Improvement: Participate in clinical governance, audits, and service development initiatives to enhance patient care.
Family & Carer Support: Engage with families and carers to ensure a supportive environment for patient recovery.

Requirements:
GMC Registration with a licence to practise as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
CCT in Psychiatry or equivalent.
Experience in the assessment and management of a range of mental health conditions.
Proficiency in using EMIS Web or other electronic patient record systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
