Job summary
Barbourne Health Centre is looking for a part-time Phlebotomist to cover a minimum of 26 weeks Maternity Leave from the 9th January 2024. To work 8am to 1pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.
GP surgery experience preferable
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to assist the clinical team in the service and delivery of the care management of the practice population. The post holder works under indirect supervision of the nursing team leader and undertakes task and duties delegated by the clinical team or a suitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.
Job responsibilities
Venepuncture
Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
Clean and keep room and equipment tidy
Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician.
Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
Use of Emis Web, Ice and Docman
At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
Qualifications
Essential
GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
Qualified to NVQ level 3/Qualified as a Phlebotomist
Practical experience of working with others
Experience of working within a nursing or healthcare environment
Desirable
Experience of working in GP Practice
Use of Emis Web/Docman/ICE
