We have partnered with a well-established, and forward-thinking GP Practice in Reading who are excited to welcome a new Healthcare Assistant to their friendly and enthusiastic team. With a commitment to providing high-quality primary care to a patient population of approx. 14,000 patients, they offer a supportive environment where you can thrive professionally.
Position Details:
Job Title: Healthcare Assistant.
Job Type: Full time/part-time hours available from Monday – Friday
Location: Reading
Salary: £22,000 - £30,000 per annum with an extensive benefits package including personal development opportunities plus NHS pension, 5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays, on-site parking and much more.
Team: Supported by GPs, paramedics, pharmacists, social prescriber, health and wellbeing coach, first contact physiotherapist and our nursing team including Practice Nurses, HCAs as well as a hard working reception/admin team. Morning coffee breaks to catch up with colleagues are encouraged at 11am each morning.
High QOF achievement, Good CQC rating, and Emis Web practice who offer patients a full range of enhanced services.
Job Summary:
To work under direct or indirect supervision of the nursing staff, providing:
Support the team to deliver high quality patient centred care.
Assist with the maintenace of patient safety at all times.
Implementing holistic, culturally sensitive, respectful, non-judgmental care from a pre-determined care plan for patients with a wide range of care needs.
Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, and weight.
Sip urine samples.
ECG’s and taking bloods.
Ordering equipment and stock for surgery such as dressings.
About You:
Experience:
Working as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP practice. Qualified to NVQ level 2 or 3.
Skills:
Excellent communication skills, effective time management, ability to work autonomously and as a team member.
Personal Qualities:
Polite, confident, motivated, forward thinker, problem solver, high levels of integrity and loyalty, sensitive and empathetic.
