B7 OR B8A Clinical/Neuro Psychologist

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Band 7 or 8A Psychologist to start ASAP for 12 weeks, for 2 days each week, days to be negotiated between Mon-Fri 9-5.

 Role based in Colchester.

Job description:

The role is very specific – to provide neuropsychological assessments in the Memory Assessment Service. It cannot be remote working as assessments are completed face to face in Colchester and Clacton.

Requirements:

• Qualified

• HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with experience of completing comprehensive neuropsychological assessments contributing to the differential diagnosis of dementia.

• Experience of working in older adult psychological services, Memory Assessment Services. or neuro rehabilitation service.

​Key responsibilities:

​

• To ensure the systemic provision of a high quality, responsive and accessible neuropsychology service to the Memory Assessment team.

• To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to service users referred to the team. This will be based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care.

• ·To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under your care and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of both uni- and multi-disciplinary care.

• To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients’ formulations and treatment plans.

• To ensure the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures.

Mandatory:

• Must be HCPC registered.

• Right to work in the UK.

• Minimum 1 year of UK experience.

• DBS on update service.
